Michigan Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Job Description:

Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
Location: Michigan.
Employment Type: Full-time/Part-time.
Reports To: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Manager, or Clinical Supervisor.

Position Summary:

A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Michigan provides direct nursing care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician. The LPN assists in delivering safe, effective, and compassionate patient care across various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and home health environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

Provide basic nursing care according to the Michigan Public Health Code and facility policies.
Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration).
Administer prescribed medications and treatments (oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, topical) within LPN scope of practice.
Assist patients with mobility, bathing, feeding, toileting, and other activities of daily living (ADLs).
Observe patients and report changes in condition to supervising RN or provider.

Clinical Duties:

Perform wound care, dressing changes, and specimen collection.
Prepare and administer injections and immunizations.
Assist with diagnostic tests and clinical procedures.
Document patient care accurately in electronic health records (EHR).

Coordination & Communication:

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Provide health education and reinforce care instructions.
Participate in care planning and quality-improvement activities.

Safety & Compliance:

Follow infection-control protocols and universal precautions.
Comply with all Michigan Board of Nursing regulations and facility policies.
Maintain confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).

Qualifications:

Active Michigan LPN license in good standing.
Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
Current CPR/BLS certification (required).
Experience in clinical or long-term care settings (preferred but not always required).
Ability to lift, move, or assist patients as needed.

Strong clinical assessment skills within LPN scope.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Compassionate, patient-centered approach.
Ability to work in fast-paced or high-stress environments.
